Dance World Cup 2008
|
|
Vancouver, Canada June 29 – July 3, 2008 |
1200
dance students from the following countries participated in the Dance World
Cup competition in Vancouver:
- Canada, USA, Mexico,
- Guam, Japan, China, Turkey
- Portugal, Poland, Italy, Austria, Germany
The registered participants from Nigeria and Nepal were unfortunately denied
visa from the Canadian authorities and thus could not come.
Since
the Dance World Cup has existed, every year special trophies for outstanding
dances and dancers were awarded. However, the Canadian organisers of this
year's competition did not give any special awards, although the general
standard of the dances was very high.
The organising committee of the Dance World Cup 2009
in Jersey guarantees that the rules of the competition will be
strictly kept, and that even more special awards will be given to outstanding
dancers and dances.
According to the lists of the results we were at least able to find out which are the dances with the highest points in the different categories of style. Here they are. The photos, however, don't show the winners but some of the other outstanding dance students.

Extreme Soul Style „XSS“ |
Canada |
In the category “Song and Dance” we were not able to find the dance with the highest points where the candidates indeed sang. In these classes “V” the organisers mixed Song and Dance with Show Dance and quite some other styles. This will not happen again. In Jersey 2009 we will have real “Song and Dance” classes with 50% singing and 50% dancing.
Here is the list of all first, second, and third places in most of the classes.
Here
are some photographs
of the competition.
The pictures that were taken by the official photographer you find at http://www.gtfotofx.com/gallery.php
